Making a reflection about Active Learning in the first module of my online class
"Fundamentals of Active Engagement" at Texas A & M University-Commerce

Fundamentals of Active Engagement. McGraw-Hill.
I got the value of education is not only deliver a subject, a content, a module, a message, or teaching something. Education is going beyond Teacher talk-Students listen; the “Active Learning” is a constant participation from both part, teachers/educators and the students.
As Confucius wrote:
"What I
hear, I forget.
What I
see, I remember.
What I
do, I understand."
Silberman modified the Confucius philosophy by adding and expanded these three statements above into Active Learning.
Silberman wrote:
"When I
hear, I forget.
When I
hear and see, I remember a little.
When I
hear, see, and ask questions or discuss with someone else, I begin to understand.
When I hear, see, discuss, and do, I acquire knowledge and skill.
When I teach to another, I master" (Silberman, 2006).
The human development learning is part of the educational psychology. Each individual will learn in different patterns. The instructors, teachers and educators professionals have the responsibilities to teach in a multiple intelligence environment what will be including not only assessment, instructional strategies, curriculum objectives and plans, but motivation. The lecture can be successful approach each students if the instructor and/or teacher knows the “how” to teach in a “active and pro-active learning environment”.
Classroom Management is not an easy task, specially, for new teachers. In order to have a successful class management, the instructors and teachers must keep motivated the class and the student attentions. In Andragogy, if different, and adult will not misbehaved if feel that the class don’t bring his/her attention, perhaps will be disconnected mentally of the instructor, probably thinking in personal problems, home, bills, etc. and at the end will not learn anything. Others adults will polite abandon the class room. Classroom Management, is a reasonable care when the teachers and the instructors deliver a content by keeping everybody motivated and engaging the students during the process of learning, making an constant active learning environment.
By keeping everybody engage in the learning process and classroom environment will make a different and will make this teacher, professor or instructor a “great educator or a great teacher”. The positive impact of active learning will make a different in between old traditional teaching fashions versus keeping everybody engage in the learning process in the classroom.
